Frances Liang is a New York City born artist with a deep appreciation for exceptional craftsmanship. She earned her bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Pratt Institute, where she studied communications design, and began her career in graphic design within the beauty and fashion industries. This early experience sharpened her eye for detail and visual composition, ultimately leading her to pursue formal training in nail specialty at Christine Valmy School.

Frances approaches nail art as a form of original creation rather than replication, with an emphasis on developing a distinct artistic voice. Specializing in freehand techniques, she has spent years refining her craft at some of New York City’s top salons while working with leading non-toxic polish brands. Her work has been recognized by prominent publications including Refinery29, PureWow, Brit + Co, Brides, Glamour, Harper’s Bazaar, Good Housekeeping, and Allure, which named her among the best classic mani-pedi services in New York City.

In 2021, Frances transitioned from her role as lead nail artist at the Nordstrom NYC Flagship to independent practice, where she offers one-on-one nail sessions, on-set services for commercial and editorial productions, and creative collaborations. Drawing on her multidisciplinary background and extensive industry experience, she takes a thoughtful, approach to mentorship, guiding artists in refining both their technical skills and creative direction. Frances is available for freelance projects and mentorship driven collaborations and can be reached at frances@francesliang.com.
